Evaluation of a new technology mattress on sleep architecture and perceived sleep quality in healthy adult volunteers

How the study was conducted

• Sample: 35 healthy subjects (men and women), aged between 30 and 69 years (mean age 48.91 ± 11.57 years).
• Methodology: Objective sleep monitoring and subjective evaluation using validated questionnaires over two separate periods. Participants were divided into two groups: the intervention group used the Re:Generation mattress during the second phase, while the control group continued using their own mattress. Each participant kept a sleep diary, recording every morning their perceived sleep quality immediately after waking up.
• Indicators: perceived sleep quality (PSQI), daytime sleepiness (ESS), self-assessment of sleep quality (VAS), actigraphic monitoring, and polysomnography with Sleep Profiler.

Results

  • +40% reduction in time to fall asleep, providing faster and more immediate rest.
  • +15% reduction in daytime sleepiness (ESS), indicating that participants felt less tired and drowsy during the day.
  • +35% reduction in nighttime awakenings, indicating greater sleep continuity.
  • +17% improvement in perceived sleep quality compared to nights spent on the standard mattress.
